Seasonal sea breeze variation analysis based on multi‐year near‐surface observations in Jakarta, Indonesia

چکیده
In this study, multi-year near-surface observations were conducted at two sites in Jakarta, Indonesia to analyse seasonal sea breeze variation. Seasonal length was defined using observed zonal wind components, the rainy season as December–March, and dry May–September. We found that Jakarta started earlier, propagated more rapidly, lasted for a shorter period of time during than season. Variation air temperature difference between urban coastal areas major factor driving During season, night-time cloud downwelling decreased difference, causing earlier onset rapid propagation due weaker land breeze. By contrast, intense radiative cooling inland caused strong negative produced stronger breeze, thus, slowing propagation. differences surface heating heat island circulation may also affect speed. Discrepancies thermal properties core prolonged positive after sunset, thus extending duration

Measuring the sea breeze from QuikSCAT Scatterometry
[1] Differences between morning and evening winds from QuikSCAT scatterometer measurements are analyzed to diagnose the diurnal variability of the wind over the ocean. A statistically significant signal, associated with the sea breeze, is present along most of the world’s coastlines. Significant diurnal variability is also present mid-ocean in the easterly trade wind belts.

Antibiotic susceptibilities were determined for 122 Neisseria gonorrheae isolates obtained from 400 sex workers in Jakarta, Indonesia, and susceptibilities to ciprofloxacin, cefuroxime, cefoxitin, cefotaxime, ceftriaxone, chloramphenicol, and spectinomycin were found. All isolates were resistant to tetracycline. A number of the isolates demonstrated decreased susceptibilities to erythromycin (M...

T he tropical Atlantic Ocean is a region of significant meteorological and oceanographic interest in terms of atmospheric chemistry and mesoscale-to-synoptic dynamical and thermodynamical processes. Nonmaritime air masses from the African continent advect out over the Atlantic within easterly winds and waves, significantly impacting the meteorology and climate dynamics downstream into the Weste...

متن کاملSea Breeze: Structure, Forecasting, and Impacts
[1] The sea breeze system (SBS) occurs at coastal locations throughout the world and consists of many spatially and temporally nested phenomena. Cool marine air propagates inland when a cross-shore mesoscale (2–2000 km) pressure gradient is created by daytime differential heating. The circulation is also characterized by rising currents at the sea breeze front and diffuse sinking currents well ...
